As an expat running a business in Spain, you're in a unique position: your company may be Spanish or from your home country (or both), your clients can come from anywhere, and your website needs to reflect all of that. At the same time, you don't want to overpay an agency that doesn't understand the international context.

Domain: .es or your home country domain?

If you're primarily targeting the Spanish market, choose a .es domain — Google Spain ranks .es domains higher in Spanish search results. If you're targeting your home country market, a local domain works better for those searches. For businesses physically based on Gran Canaria, we usually recommend a .es domain combined with strong SEO on the Dutch or English sections of the site.
